This was gonna be my RAGBRAI review, but…

Filed under: Uncategorized — Chris Neuendorf @ 9:53 pm

I woke up at like 1:30 AM this morning unable to catch my breath. I could only take these little short breaths and it sucked really super bad. So I made the decision that I was going to drive myself to the Emergency Room. So I threw on some pants and a shirt and drove to the Waverly Health Center.

I told them I can’t breath and I had been on RAGBRAI the past week and was in storm Monday morning and rode 40 miles Monday afternoon in the rain and I think I probably have pneumonia or something. They then subjected me to many tests and like 5 people came in to check me out. This one lady took blood from my vein around the elbow. (You know, the drug user vein. ) Then they brought in this other lady to take blood from an artery in my right wrist. That hurt like a son-of-a bitch.. First she missed, then she nicked the artery and it clotted right away so she had to start over again. I was also hooked up to an EKG machine to check out my heart, then they took me for chest X-Rays.

After all that the doctor came in and told me I have pneumonia. (Which is what I assumed I had to begin with, but still felt pretty good to hear) They gave me this aerosol drug to help my breathing then an IV of antibiotics, before giving me a few pills and a prescription.

Good times, good times. I got home at like 4 AM and it is now 1 PM and I am just getting up… this reminds me of my college days. :-)

Anyway, all week long I have been hearing how it is gonna be hella hot next week. It was hella hot this week and I rode a few times and yes, it was indeed hella hot. Now I check the weather report for Sheldon, Iowa. (The town the route stops at on Monday.) and now they say chance of T-Storms and a high of 85. So shit, is it gonna be 99 or 85 and Stormy? With my luck it will be 99 and stormy. HAHA.

I don’t think I will have a chance to post anything during the week, but if you are lucky I will send out some SMS’s to a lucky few.

This week I was home alone as Tracey and Ellie were in California this week on vacation with my Mom sister and aunt. You would think with just me here the house would clean itself.. no, it will not.. stupid house…

Ok, I gotta get everything ready to go!! Later.

P.S. I got a fever.. and the only prescription is more COWBELL!
