I woke up at like 1:30 AM this morning unable to catch my breath. I could only take these little short breaths and it sucked really super bad. So I made the decision that I was going to drive myself to the Emergency Room. So I threw on some pants and a shirt and drove to the Waverly Health Center.

I told them I can’t breath and I had been on RAGBRAI the past week and was in storm Monday morning and rode 40 miles Monday afternoon in the rain and I think I probably have pneumonia or something. They then subjected me to many tests and like 5 people came in to check me out. This one lady took blood from my vein around the elbow. (You know, the drug user vein. ) Then they brought in this other lady to take blood from an artery in my right wrist. That hurt like a son-of-a bitch.. First she missed, then she nicked the artery and it clotted right away so she had to start over again. I was also hooked up to an EKG machine to check out my heart, then they took me for chest X-Rays.

After all that the doctor came in and told me I have pneumonia. (Which is what I assumed I had to begin with, but still felt pretty good to hear) They gave me this aerosol drug to help my breathing then an IV of antibiotics, before giving me a few pills and a prescription.

Good times, good times. I got home at like 4 AM and it is now 1 PM and I am just getting up… this reminds me of my college days. :-) -dorf
