If I can be serious for a moment…

Filed under: Uncategorized — Chris Neuendorf @ 11:22 pm

This is a very good article about the U.N. and it’s attempted Internet power grab.. Thank God the USA still has enough balls to tell the U.N. to stick it.

They will try again…

Any institution brazen enough to hold a “World Summit on the Information Society” in internet-censoring journalist-jailing Tunisia is obviously ready to try anything to get hold of the net.

Stupid U.N.

The Big Mo!!!

Filed under: Uncategorized — Chris Neuendorf @ 8:31 am

Went to the UNI Dome Saturday night for Northern Iowa’s football game in the first round of the Div 1-AA playoff’s. They played the Eagles of Eastern Washington. The Panthers were down 14 points in the 4th quarter but scored 17 points to win the game!! Once the Panthers grabbed the Big Mo in the 4th quarter I knew they were gonna win!!

Money quote from the Eastern Washington coach:

“Both teams have very good quarterbacks,” Wulff said. “Defensively both teams struggled at times stopping each other. It was a little bit of a game of momentum. We just ended up at the end of the game without the momentum and Northern Iowa did.”

Go Panthers!

‘World’s ugliest’ dog dies at 14

Filed under: Uncategorized — Chris Neuendorf @ 12:21 pm

Nooooooo.. poor little guy… I originally wrote about the Worlds Ugliest Dog August 15th..

Found out today that Sam died today from an MSNBC article.

Lockheed said she initially was terrified of Sam when she agreed to take him in as a rescue dog six years ago on a 48-hour trial basis. Although she fell in love with him, his appearance repulsed her then-boyfriend and prompted the man to break up with her.

Thanks for the memories, Sam… You will be missed.

Go Hawkeye’s!

Filed under: Uncategorized — Chris Neuendorf @ 2:38 pm

The first part of my plan is complete. Iowa kicked the snot out of Minnesota, and Ohio St. beat Meechingan, and Penn St. took care of Mich. St. This gives the Hawks a pretty good chance of landing in the Alamo Bowl.. and I wanna be there!!

Hard to believe but this was my first ever trip to Iowa City for a Hawk game… My dad scored some kick a$$ free tickets near midfield and only 17 rows up. We were two of 70,000+ fans living up Iowa’s last home game of the year. It was a balmy 44 degrees.

Wez was also there. While I was near the 45 yardline, Wez was behind the goalposts in the endzone. Here are a few pictures with a circle around the chump himself.

As I said.. we pi$$ pounded the Golden Gophers.. The final score was 52-28, but I’m gonna say it was 52-14, because the Gophers scored two cheesy touchdowns against out 3rd and 4th teamers.

Eddie Hinkel caught a stadium recored 4 TD passes… Here is the jumbotron scoreboard withi him celebrating his 4th… you can see his stats on the left side, which gave him Co-Offensive Big 10 Player of the week.

My plan of going to Texas on the 28th is looking better and better…

Touchdown Hawkeyes!!!

Filed under: Uncategorized — Chris Neuendorf @ 12:19 am

HAHA, just got done watching the all new South Park that I DVR’d tonight. It was funnier then crap. It totally ripped on the Church of Scientology… not to mention the ongoing rumors that Tom Cruise is gay.. (Not that there is anything wrong with that.)

If you actually want to know what those weirdo’s in that cult believe, check out the episode. It is messed up.

UPDATE:
Check out this story about the next great reality show. This could be the show that makes me watch reality TV again…

“Hey, Let’s Go Bowling!!” or “Best Sports Weekend Ever!”

Filed under: Uncategorized — Chris Neuendorf @ 7:40 am

This past weekend was one of the greatest sports weekends ever!! Saturday was the big day… The Iowa Hawkeye’s beat the Wisconsin Badgers 20-10. Their defense dominated the 2nd half. Though the record is not where everybody thought it would be, this game makes them bowl eligible. They have one more game left this Saturday against the hated Minn. Golden Gophers. This is a rivarly game and up for grabs is Floyd of Rosedale.

The winner of the annual Iowa-Minnesota football game is entitled to keep a trophy known as Floyd of Rosedale until next year’s contest.

A bet in 1935 between Minnesota Governor Floyd B. Olson and Iowa Governor Clyde Herring gave birth to Floyd of Rosedale. Tensions between the two state universities had been running high and a wager was made in an effort to relieve the situation.

After Iowa lost the 1935 game, Herring presented Olson with Floyd of Rosedale, a full-blooded champion pig and a brother of BlueBoy from Will Rogers’ movie State Fair. Olson gave the pig to the University of Minnesota and commissioned St. Paul sculptor Charles Brioscho to capture Floyd’s image.

The result is a bronze pig 53cm (21 inches) long and 38cm (15 inches) high. As of 2005, Floyd resides in Iowa City, where he has been for the past 4 years.

If Iowa beats the Gophers, again, this will greatly improve the bowl Iowa will go to. It also depends on Ohio State/Michigan and Penn State/Mich. St. Read about what could happen here.

I will be at the game Saturday.. should be cold, but that won’t bother me.

I am kinda hoping Iowa goes to the Alamo Bowl in San Antonio, Tx. If that is the case I will probably go. San Antonio is south of Austin, Tx, which is where my brother, Andrew, lives. I’ve already started to plot my journey. So far all I have is the easy part… Andrew’s house to the Alamo Dome. How to get to Austin is the other question. Austin is basically directly south of here.. Just zoom over 50 miles to Interstate 35 and head south the rest of the way… it’s a long drive though. Those plans are still in the works… Iowa has to beat up on Minn first.. so I can get to far ahead of myself.

Moving on… Also Saturday the University of Northern Iowa Panthers beat Southern Ill. in the UNIDome to win the Gateway conference and gaurentee their entry into the playoffs. It was the greatest game I have ever seen in the dome. UNI was down 5 with 3 mins left and had 4th and 2 on the Southern Ill. 35 and threw a 35 yard TD bomb to take the lead and win the game. The dome was rocking.

Also, my High School, Tripoli, won another volleyball title. They made it to 8 strait title games, winning 6 of those eight. Pretty darn hard to do considering Tripoli is a little shrimp of a town.

One night after surviving a gut-wrenching five-game semifinal match with Holy Trinity, Johnson and top-ranked Tripoli had to dig even deeper Saturday night at the U.S. Cellular Center.

From overcoming a two games-to-nothing deficit and four match points in the fifth game to several uncharacteristic blunders by Johnson in the final stages, Tripoli managed to outlast second-ranked Treynor in an epic Class 1A title match, 23-25, 23-25, 25-14, 25-18, 21-19.

And on Sunday my Chicago Bears beat the 49ers. Da Bears are still in 1st place!!

Best weekend ever!!!!
