Holy crap… Holy crap…. Holy crap… Tonight I watched the greatest football game I have ever seen!!! The UNI Panthers just beat Texas State 40-37 in OT in San Marcos, Tx. That means UNI is going to the DIV 1-AA title game in Chattanooga, TN next Friday….
I will repeat.. This was one, if not THE, greatest game I have ever watched… I really wanted to go down and watch it in person since my brother lives in Austin and is a grad student at Texas St, but I choose to stay home and watch it on ESPN2.
UNI, down by eight, scored a TD and got the 2 points to tie it up at 37 with just under a minute and a half left. Now this is what I do not understand, the Bobcats had the ball around their 30, with 1:20ish left and 3 timeouts… 99% of teams would have tried to go down the field to get into fieldgoal range to win the game, but Texas State ran the clock out to get to OT.. The crowd started to boo.. I called my brother who was at the game and he said it just killed the crowd.. they were totally into the game and then BAM. Turns out it was a bad call as UNI wins it in OT!!
We are getting together a group and driving the 13+ hours to Chattanooga… I really like saying Chattanooga… It’s more fun when you say Chattanooooooooooooooooga. Hehehe.
I just watched the final few minutes again… (the power of DVR) Flippin’ sweet!!!
