Help Support Arthritis Research

Last December we participated in the Jingle Bell Walk/Run in Mason City, IA. It was a fundraiser for the Arthritis Foundation. You can ready my posts about it here and here.
We are doing the Arthritis Walk this Saturday (21st). The Arthritis Walk is the Arthritis Foundation’s signature event that takes place in communities nationwide to raise funds and awareness to fight arthritis, the nation’s leading cause of disability.
As most of you know, our daughter Ellie. Has Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis. 300,000 children nationwide have some form of Arthritis. (There are over 100 forms!!!)
Ellie is currently in remission, which is awesome. She is also this year’s Youth Honoree. You can read some articles about her here, and here.
We have over 25 people walking with Team Waverly this Saturday!! Anybody in the area that would like join up feel free to head over to our site: Team Waverly. Feel free to donate a few hundred bucks while you are there! HAHA.

DA BEARS!!!!!!!!
Sweet Monday Night Football last night! The Bears did not play very well and were down 0-20 at halftime but they do have the best damn defense in the NFL and they won the game 24-23 without scoring an offensive TD… Yeah, you heard me!!
A field goal, two fumbles returned for TD’s and a punt return for a TD. Suck it Bear haters!!

14-year old shoots suspected burglar inside his home
It happened Monday afternoon at a home in the 4200 block of Ocean Drive. A 14-year-old boy shot and killed a man who broke into his family’s home Monday and threatened to kill him and his mother, Police Chief Bryan Smith said.
Smith said the man, confronted a woman as she was carrying groceries into her home shortly before 1 p.m. The man forced her inside and tied her and her son up. Smith said the woman was able to loosen the binding and free her son, who got his father’s revolver from a security box beneath a bed.
As the man tried to break into the room where the two were and threatened to kill them both, the teen fired a shot through the door and hit the intruder in the head, Smith said.
