Iowa lawmakers to consider deer contraceptive regulations

Yes, you read that right, they want to give deer “the pill” to keep them from having baby deer. “Why is that?” you say. Because the deer population in Iowa is out of control. “So what, let deer be free!” you say? Well, the reason is that when there is an overpopulation of deer, they actually compete with themselves for food and a lot of deer end up dying the slow death of starvation. Not a good way to go. Also, there are so many damn deer that they get smacked by cars on the roads all the time, putting the safety of Iowans at risk.

So we hunt deer, but Iowa doesn’t sell enough deer tags, so not enough deer get shot. The solution, sell more tags. It is more revenue to the State. But nooooooooooo, they want to develop a drug that will “cost anywhere from $300 to $1,000 to capture and inject each deer with the vaccine, adding that its effect lasts only two years.”

FYI: a dead deer will NEVER reproduce again. Quit wasting our tax money on “trojans for deer.”
